摘要
本文旨在研究"省力"本能是如何影响语言选择的,同时表明情况的紧急性使我们只能以最小的努力来说话。这种在紧急压力下依据"省力"来有效表达语言的倾向,虽然压缩了语言,但也导致了话语不连贯问题的出现。使话语连贯的最好办法就是借助共有知识。
This paper aims to study how the instinct for ＇least effort＇ affects the choice of language, and shows that the urgency of an emergency situation causes us to speak with minimum effort. The tendency to speak efficiently in terms of least effort under the pressure of urgency not only compresses language but also causes trouble with utterance coherence. The best way to create coherence is to resort to common knowledge.
