“城市空墟”是当今快速城市化进程中出现的一种全球性的城市现象，也是近年来城市发展领域一个备受关注的重要概念，它表达了城市空间中一种缺乏内容、等待填充的状态。“城市空墟”是一个定义模糊、在城市肌理中呈现某种断裂的地方，它们或多或少地被遗弃，被忽略，它们需要重新定义、需要重建和更新，
“Urban Voids” is a global urban phenomenon in the rapid process of contemporary urbanization as well as a concept of public attention in the field of urban development in recent years, focusing on rarefaction or urban rupture phenomena, generated by processes of decay and physical and social degradation in city areas. They are more or less abandoned or ignored, and need to be redefined, rebuilt, renovated, conversed, recycled adaptively and infused with new vigor. With the development of cities, this trend wilt change the cities image to a 8rear extent. Thoughts and renovation of“Urban Voids”are one of the key terms of contemporary urban development. The future of the main cities and urban territories greatly depends upon the destiny of these “Urban Voids.”
