Textual function is one of the three basic functions in Halliday＇s Systemic Functional Linguistics. This article tries to employ the theory of textual function to analyze the languages of humorous mobile short messages, in the hope of discussing from a more scientific perspective how the humorous language effects are achieved by the new means of communication along with the development of science,
