During the reign of Emperor Jiajing and Emperor Longqing, there appeared Si Ping Tune, another operatic tune besides the four important operatic tunes such as Yu Yap, Hai Yan, Ge Yang and Kun Shan. Si Ping Tune was an ancient operatic tune which had a great vogue in the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty but gradually disappeared in the middle of Qing Dynasty. Originated in Yang Yuan village of Zheng He County in the north of Fujian, Si Ping Opera still keeps its primitively simple and rough features, being the "living fossil" of Si Ping Tune and with very high research value. We are sure to protect Si Ping Opera, which is a nonmaterial and cultural heritage.
