The level of CD4^+ CD25^+ regulatory T cells was assayed in the peripheral blood from the patients with Graves' disease (GD) by flowcytometry. CIM^+ CD25 ^+ regulatory T cells as a kind of non-specific immune cells appear to have no relationship with thyroid function, however, their lowered number in early GD patients suggests that they seem to play an essential role in the pathogenesis of GD.
