摘要
人名作为专有名词相对来说译法应该比较固定,可是长期以来对于人名往往还是译无定则。文学作品中人名的翻译虽然有一定的自由度,但这个自由度也应该以原作者的创作意图为前提。文章拟对《推销员之死》一剧两个译本中人名的翻译进行分析,探讨两个译本中人名翻译的得失,以期为文学作品中人名的翻译方面提供参考。
Comparatively speaking, the translation of name should be unified and consistent for the sake of readers＇ acceptability; however, we have no strict principle to follow for a long time. There is certain freedom in the translation of name, especially in literary works. However, this freedom should be based on the original work. This paper provides a through analysis on the translation of character names in the two translations of Death of a Salesman, which we hope will yield some useful hints in the translation of character names in literary works.
