Nathaniel Hawthorn's classical novel The Scarlet Letter in the 19th century and Colleen McCullough's best-selling novel The Thorn Birds in the 20th century both display the love which but really happen in the wildness. Wildness is not only the source of evils and dangers, but also the Eden of sexual desire where the flowers of civilization bloom. Hester and Meggie think deeply in the wildness and rise to revolt against the religious barricade and realize their dreams by their daughters, Pearl and Justine, who are the hope of the two writers in the wildness of the realistic world.
