本文介绍并探讨了最简方案的核心句法理论思想,重点阐述了最简方案的缘起、语言系统的界定、运算的经济原则、特征核查和语段推导。最简方案的提出与其指导的理论探索是回归语言理论的简洁雅致。乔姆斯基及其追随者突出语言运算的经济原则,该原则是制约句法操作的至高无上原则,与此原则密切相关的操作为特征核查,即句内成分一切位置变化的根本。乔姆斯基提出的语段推导理论大大简化了句法运算,确保了运算的经济性,是最简方案思想指导下的全新句法理论。
This paper is an exploratory introduction to the major theoretical issues of the Minimalist Program, including the motivation of MP, the Minimalist definition of language, computational economy, feature checking and derivation by phase. Minimalist inquiries manifest a focus on simplicity and elegance in theoretical construction. The principle of economy advocated by Chomsky and his followers serves as the supreme constraint on syntactic computation. Closely related to this principle is the operation known as 'feature checking', which functions as the basis of movement. Derivation by phase, an entirely new theory developed within the framework of MP, is emerging as a standard theory that maximally reduces syntactic computation to its minimum.
