The struggles with various states run through the history of the Hittite Kingdom. According to the complicated and changeable situations in Anatolia and other areas of ancient Near East, the Hittite Kings judged the hour, sized up the situations and adopted a positive, initiative, flexible and changeable foreign policies. The flexibility and the pragmatism characterized the foreign policies of Hittite kings.
