32 healthy Chinese black and white milk cows with similar weight, age, fetus, lactation amount, milk fat percentage, milk protein and solids were selected. The control group was fed on basal diets and the experiment groups were fed on basal diets with 50, 100 and 150 g/d Chinese herbal medicine additive for thermo-resistant stress per cow respectively during an experiment period of 40 d, so as to study the effect of Chinese herbal medicine additive for thermo-resistant stress to remit the effluence of high temperature weather on milk cows. The results indicated that in comparison with the control group, the average daily milk yield of each cow in the experiment Group B, C and D were increased by 1.89, 2.62 and 2.83 kg with the increasing extents of 11.91%, 16.51% and 17.83% respectively, and the difference was extremely significant ( P 〈0.01 ). The milk fat percentage in Group B, C and D was in- creased by 0.10, 0.23 and 0.15 percentage point with the increasing extents of 3.47% , 7.99% and 5.21% respectively, of which the difference of Group C was significant ( P 〈 0.05 ) ; milk protein in Group B, C and D was increased by 0.06, 0.10 and 0.08 percentage point respectively, and the difference was not significant (P 〈0.05) ; the milk solids in Group B, C and D were increased by 0.39, 0.42 and 0.38 percentage point respectively, and the average daily income per cow was 2.64, 3.08 and 2.53 Yuan more than that of the control group.
