摘要
由于中英文化的异同,在自然环境,宗教信仰和政治体系,民间风俗,思维方式及喻体形象等方面形成不同表达方式的习语以及这些习语在表意上的相似之处,指出在语际转换时,应当尽量映射出习语的文化内涵,减少望文生义的错误。
Due to the differences and similarities in Chinese and English cultures, there form different idioms in religious belief, political system, folk customs, mode of thinking and simile images. Also, there exist similarities in the expression ofidioms. This paper points out that in language translation, the cultural connation of idioms should be reflected as far as possible and errors in literal translation be avoided.
