摘要
本文提出一种利用Eu^(3+)离子发射光谱来测定物质析射率的方法,使可测对象不仅限于晶体和玻璃,而且扩展到粉末样品。用此方法检验几种已知析射率的材料,都得到较好的符合。
The index of refraction of Eu3+ activated phosphor Sample can be evaluated from the emission spectrum of the phosphor by the following procedures.Let Ij be the integral intensity of the spectral line corresponding to the transition 5D0 - 7Fj-(j = 0,1 ...... 6),vj- its wave number, Aj - the transitionprobability. Then:where a, -(2)The total transition probability A of 5D0 to all of the 7Fj levels can be expressed aSSince all aj's can be measured, A is propoitional to At.Assume that the efficiency of the emission corresponding to 6D0 - 7Fj for every j is 100%. This is reasonable because the distance between 6D0 and 7Fj is at least 12000 cm-1. Thenwhere r0 is the lifetime of 5D0 and can be measuied.Thuscan be determined directly from experiment.It is known that 5D0 - 7F1 is a pure magnetic dipole transition, which is only relative to the index refraction n(n3). So the unknown index refraction can be obtained from a refeicncc matenal,where A'1 is the magnetic dipole transition probability (5D0 - 7F1)and n' the index lefiaction of the reference material.LaF.Eu3+ is taken to be the reference material, of which re = 1.58. The aj's and the lifetime of 5D0 of Eu3+ activated LaOCl, Y2O3 and borate glass are measured and shown in the table,togather with the value of n evaluated by this method. It is seen that it agrees fairly well with the value mcasured optically.
