摘要
壤白蚁属Parahy potermes Zhu et Huang,新属 模式种:曼允壤白蚁Parahy potermes manyunensis,新种。 属征:兵蚁头近卵圆形,头背面被毛稀少,两侧缘于触角前骤然狭缩,头中部最宽,后缘宽圆,头背面中部明显隆起;左上颚内缘中部第1缘齿上方具2—3枚小齿。 比较与讨论:本新属与地白蚁属Hypotermes Holmgren较接近。但Hypotermes头两侧缘触角前不呈狭缩状;左上颚第1缘齿上方不具锯齿状小齿;头背面中部呈弧状隆起。
Genus Parahypotermos Zhu et Huang, Gen. nov.
Typus generis. Parahypotermes manyunensis Zhu ct Huang sp. nov.
Diagnosis. Soldier. Head slightly oval, anterolateral corners of antennae considerably narrowed; head capsule sparsely hairy, broadest in middle, broadly rounded postcrioly, dorsocentral region hump-shaped, 2-3 finely serrated point of left mandible anteriorly.
Comparisons. The soldier of this new genus is closely related to that of Hypotermes Holmgren, but differs from the latter chiefly in the following characteristics. 1. Hypotermes anterolatcral corners of antennae not considerably narrowed; 2. Dorsocentral region hump-shaped, but vs. arch-shaped; 3. Left mandible with 2-3 serrated teeth, vs. without.
In 1964, Professor Tsai and Chen Ningshang first reported Hypotermes sumatrensis Holmgren as a new record from Yingjiang County, Yunnan Province. But it was examined that the specimen is similar in shape with the characteristics oi the new genus, so the author consider that the pacim which was named Hypotermes sumatrensis Holmgren from Yingjiang Countu is not belongs to the genus Hypotermes.
1. Parahy potermes manyunensis Zhu ei Huang, sp. nov.
Soldier. This new species resembles Parahy potermes ruiliensis Zhu et Wang, sp. nov., but differs as follows. 1. Head capsule larger than that of the vs.; 2. Pronotum broader than that of the latter species; 3. Postmentum nearly parallel sided, vs. slightly convex. 4. Antennae with 16 articles, fourth shortest, vs. 15 articles, third shortest.
Collected from Manyun, Yingjiang County, Yunnan Province. 24°32'N latitude, 97°45'E longitude. 730 m above sea level; 3 October, 1982, by Zhu Shimo and Long Yongcheng. Picked from cow and pig dung. Coll. no. 82X 30131. Soldiers (holotype, paratypes) and workers are deposited in Kunming Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica.
2. Parahypotermes ruiliensis Zhu et Wang, sp. nov.
Soldier: This new species resembles Parahy potermes yingjiangensis, Huang et Zhu, sp. nov., but differs as follows. 1. Body smaller than that of the vs.; 2. Postmentum smaller than the latter; 3. Antennae with 15 articles, third shortest, vs. with 16 articles, fourth shortest.
Collected from Wanding, Ruili County, Yunnan Province. 23°52'N latitude, 95°39'E longitude. 855 m above sea level. 11 October, 1982, by Zhu Shimo and Long Yongcheng. Digged out from the root of Cassia siamea. Coll. no. 82X110193. Soldiers (holotype, paratypes) and workers are deposited in Kunming Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica.
3. Parahy potermes yingjiangensis Huang et Zhu, sp. nov.
Soldier. This new species resembles Parahy potermes manyunensis Zhu et Huang, sp. nov., but it can be differs as follows. 1. Head capsule of vs. seen in profile raised in middle, but P. yingjiangensis slightly anteriorly; 2. Pronotum anterior margin distinctly emarginate in middle, anterior lobe narrower than that of vs.
