摘要
综述了国际设计理论与方法学研究的发展，认为发展分为萌芽期、发展期和走向世界等３个阶段，每个阶段各有其特点，分析了它的发展背景、必然性及当前状况，认为在不同的历史时期研究内容均有变化，各国采取的方法或措施不同，研究的侧重点及特点也不同。中国机械工程学会机械设计分会对研究起了重大推动作用，针对当前状况提出了一些建议。
Developments in the field of design theory and methodology in the world are reviewed. Background, necessity, and state of the art of these developments are analyzed. Some conclusions are drawn.
