摘要
常熟市是国务院批准的历史文化名城。近年来常熟古城保护与经济发展产生矛盾,本文通过对工程试点的案例研完,探讨了常熟新城区中心的规划设计,认为名城建设必须从城市整体着眼,运用公众参与的途径,才能从根本上解决“建”与“保”的矛盾。
Changshu is a famous historic city which is facing some problems of handling the relations between the development of the economy and the preservation of the culture rationally. The paper has discussed the planning and design of Changshu New Downtown with the case study of a project. The author thinks that we should harmonize the relationships between 'building' and 'preserving' effectively by viewing the city as a whole and letting the public give opinion on the problem.
