摘要
女性割礼作为一种复杂的社会文化现象已经延续了数千年,至今仍在非洲许多国家和地区盛行,由于其对妇女和儿童的身心健康造成了极大的伤害,因此外部文化极力要求废除这一陋俗;可这种文化内部的执行者和拥护者却认为,实行割礼的民族应有自己的文化自决权,外界无权将与之相反的价值标准强加于该社会。在这种二元对立的语境下,非洲各国受尽割礼之苦的妇女们作为受害者,如何通过自身的觉醒从女性割礼习俗中解脱出来,这是国际社会普遍关注的问题。
Female circumcision as .a complex socio-cultural phenomenon has survived for thousands of years and is still popular in some countries and areas of Africa. People of other places want to abolish this corrupt custom because of its hurting the women and children mentally and physically. However, the advocators inside the culture hold that they should enjoy their right of self-determination and the outside world should not impose other values upon them. In the context of matched opposites, how the female victims of Africa suffering from female circumcision rid themselves of this corrupt custom through selfawareness has been the focus of attention all over the world.
