摘要
章学诚于《书坊刻诗话后》中,指袁枚《随园诗话》中所言与画家童钰的生死交谊为诬。然而章氏与袁枚不同,文集中除此之外,绝无提及童钰处;袁枚诗文则有多篇纪念童钰,感情深挚,细节分明,不似章氏于事情多推断、猜测之词。就交往而论,章氏与童钰为同乡,但生平绝少交集,其知童钰,惟赖史家邵晋涵;袁枚戚友多人与童钰交往密切,童钰去世前八年,且有信致袁枚。就性情、志趣论,章氏与自然、诗歌、绘画无缘,经世思想浓重,保守自大;袁、童则均爱梅、爱诗,性情恬淡、放达,可谓志趣相投。章氏因忌嫉敌视袁枚,指袁枚伪造故实,实则是他自己昧于事实而妄言。章氏力倡“史德”之说,此处可谓背道而驰。
In his article Shu Fang Ke Shi Hua,Zhang Xue Cheng criticized Yuan Mei for forging the friendship between Yuan and Tong Yu in Yuan's Shi Hua.However,in Yuan's poems and articles,he often mentioned their deep friendship through many details.On the contrary,Zhang never mentioned Tong but in this article.Although Zhang and Tong are fellow townsmen,there were few opportunities in which they could come to know each other.Yuan's brother and many friends all had close relations with Tong,and in a poem he mentioned a letter Tong wrote him before Tong's death.Regarding their taste and thought,Yuan and Tong were close,both of them were fond of nature and art;Zhang could never share this taste,and he was very conservative.So Zhang's criticism is not true,and it violated 'morrow in writing about history' which he himself advocated.
