While all eyes were upon the Metropolitan Opera in December 2006,something else happened in the venerable La Scala,a venue that has been in existence for more than two centuries This happened on December 10,on the occasion of the season premiere of La Scala.soon after the first ten minutes into Aida,Just as Roberto Alagna finished＂Celeste Aida＂expecting the audience＇s applause,what he got was boos and hisses ,Alagna stood up and walked away from the stage,therefore making enemies of everyone .What happened that day raised a number of questions the bottomline of au dience behavior and the bottomline of artists＇moral and rplfessional commitment.
