摘要
利用掺Yb大模面积双包层光子晶体光纤和声光调制器(AOM)研制了调Q光子晶体光纤激光器.在65 kHz的重复频率下,得到了最大平均功率为2.5 W,脉冲宽度(FWHM)120 ns,峰值功率320 W,单脉冲能量38.5μJ的调Q单模激光脉冲,激光中心波长为1 038.4 nm.分析介绍了实验中出现的多脉冲现象和激光脉冲重复频率的演化及其原因.
An acoustic optical Q-switched photonic crystal fiber laser was demonstrated with a large mode area ytterbium-doped double clad photonic crystal fiber as gain medium. A maximum average output power of 2.5 W was obtained at the repetition rate of 65 kHz with a pulse width of 120 ns, introducing to peak power and single-pulse energy of 320 W and 38.5 ul, respectively. And the phenomena of multiple pulses and "pulse repetition rate evolution" were observed and discussed. In the condition of low repetition rates and short modulator opening time ( high Q value state) , there were several pulses in one Q-switch operation period because of the longer switching time. Moreover, during the increase of pump power, the so-called "pulse repetition rate evolution" was detected. If the pump power was too low to make the pulse build-up time longer than the Q-switch modulator opening time, the exact pulse repetition rate would be half of the modulator repetition rate. Further improvements would be made by optimi-zing the experimental configuration to shorten pulse width and scale the peak power.
