发动机冷却分为风冷和液冷。风冷包括自然风冷和强制风冷,由于结构简单、工作可靠而多用于坐式摩托车中。液冷包括油冷和水冷,油冷比水冷结构简单、冷却介质沸点高,散热器结构尺寸小,因此经济性好;由于油冷却中冷却介质与润滑油通用,则要求机油油质要好,对机油滤清要求高等,因此限制了油冷的发展,目前在中、大型液冷摩托车发动机中大多数还是采用水冷。
There are two modes of engine cooling: air and liquid. The former divided into natural and positive is used for its simple construction and reliability; while the latter is divided into oil and water. Oil cooling simpler than water cooling in structure, higher boiling point of cooling medium,and smaller size of structure,is economic. Oil cooling use is restrained for its higher filtering requirement (oil cooling medium and lubricating oil can be changed each other). Nowadays,water cooling is used in larger motorcycles.
