摘要
对清政府将粤汉、川汉商办铁路收归国有而引发的保路风潮最终导致了清王朝的覆灭这一重大历史事件,过去的研究皆从绅商和人民保路与革命的角度加以研究。本文从政府应对社会性危机的角度研究这一事件,着重阐释清廷在处理路事过程中在哪些关键问题上作出了错误选择,从而导致事件向最严重的方向发展,以至于造成王朝倒塌的结果。
The historical event leading to the overturn of Qing Dynasty in 1911 was the Railroad Construction Right Regaining Movement ignited when the government intended to take back the construction right of the lines, from Canton to Wuhan and from Wuhan to Sichuan, which were then operated by private companies. Most researches have emphasized the issue from the angle of revolution and of how gentry businessmen and people defended their rights. In this thesis, the author will rebuild the history during this period by making further study on government's role in dealing with social crises, to analyze how the government improperly handled the event at the critical stages to aggravate the situation and finally caused the collapse of Qing Dynasty.
