摘要
凯特.肖邦的名作《觉醒》在出版前的标题是《一个孤独的灵魂》,两个标题形成对比,揭示了肖邦描写女性意识的觉醒,目的在于展示人的主体性的觉醒以及人的孤独。如此一来,小说中的女性主义观念应当视为通向深层哲学观照,即对于人的主体性及孤独的探究的阶梯。
The Awakening, Kate Chopin＇s most famous novel, is a classic acclaimed by feminists. Starting from a comparison between the titles the novel used, this paper attempts to reveal that Chopin＇s portrayal of the awakerning of female consciousness is for the sake of presenting the awakening of subjectivity and human being＇s solitude. Therefore, feminist concepts should be taken as the way to a more profound philosophical concern： the concern on subjectivity and solitude.
