摘要
本文首先简要说明定性研究和定量研究的特征,然后举例说明定量研究中统计方法的应用及意义。本文以笔者做过的认知功能教学法实验为例,具体说明描述统计和推断统计中的主要方法及其意义,阐明统计方法在第二语言研究中的重要性。
This paper first discusses the features of qualitative research and quantitative research and then uses the experiment which had been done to test the effectiveness of the teaching approach, namely, ＂cognitive functional approach＂, as an example to illustrate how to apply the statistical methods in second language research. It describes both the main descriptive statistical and the inferential methods.
