The Cultural Contradictions in the Protection and Development of Crafts and Fine Arts

摘要近年来全国各地开展的保护和发展工艺美术的工作遇到许多现实问题,归结起来有几大文化矛盾。面对全球化带来的急剧的社会变迁,只有认识工艺美术的本质,顺应历史规律和时代要求,才能平衡好手工与机器、用与美、文化保护与经济发展的关系,并合理看待社会变迁中文化特质的丢失与再生、文化全球化与文化自觉的矛盾。 In the past few years the protection and development of traditional crafts and fine arts all over the country have come across many real-time problems which can be categorized as a few important cultural contradictions. Facing the dramatic changes brought forth by globalization, only by knowing the essence of our crafts and fine arts and meeting the historical and contemporary requirements, can we keep balance between crafts and machine, between usage and beauty, between cultural protection and economic development, and deal reasonably with contradictions between loss and revival, and between cultural globalization and cultural consciousness in the rapid social transformation.
