《死水微澜》的女主人公邓幺姑和《包法利夫人》的艾玛进行婚外恋的原因和行为具有相似性,但她们在爱情中的地位与态度不同:艾玛是以主动的姿态去爱的,爱情就是艾玛生存的目的;邓幺姑则以“被爱”的受动姿态去等待爱情,爱情是她生存的手段,这两种不同的恋爱观有其社会历史文化根源。
The heroine in Ripple of Dead Water and the heroine in Madame Bovary are similar in reasons and behaviours of their extramarital love, but they have different positions and attitudes in their love: the former sought love with active attitude and considered love as the purpose of living while the latter waited for love with passive attitude and considered love as the means of living. The different views on love originate in the social and historic culture.
