The word "Scapegoat" originates from the ancient meaning of expiating one' s guilt in order to drive away disasters, which has been firmly proved with lots of evidence by historians. Though having undergone various evolution, that kind of expiation is still reflected in different social customs of all nations all over the word. It filters into people' s mind, and has formed a sort of indescribable psychological awareness. Over centuries, the word has long before denoted a literary character that has been a notable part in the literary texts depiction and the origin to grope after the talcs about the relations between human beings and their fate in literary works. Among those literary texts depicting Scapegoats, Oedipus, whose tale is virtually a specific description of the literary figure of "A Scapegoat", typifies the character.
