摘要
采用全矢量有限元法,分析空气孔对掺铒孔辅助导光光纤(EDHALF)的截止波长、重叠积分因子和模场直径的影响,并与普通掺铒光纤进行了比较。综合考虑EDHALF的基模和二阶模的截止波长、在信号波长处的重叠积分因子和模场直径的值,优化设计了EDHALF的纤芯半径、纤芯与包层的折射率差、相对孔芯距和孔的相对大小4个结构参量。
Erbium-doped hole-assisted l ightguide fiber (EDHALF) is a novel microstructured fiber which is composed of a high index core doped with erbium,a low index cladding and a small number of air holes surrounding the core. The effect of air holes on EDHALFs" cutoff wavelength,overlap factor and mode field diameter is analyzed by using full-vector finite element method. And the comparison between EDHALF and conventional erbium-doped fiber is made. Four structural parameters of EDHALF-core radius,the refractive index difference between core and cladding, relative hole-to-core spacing and relative size of air holes are optimized by taking account of the cutoff wavelengths of the second order mode and fundamental mode,overlap factor and mode field diameter at the wavelength of signal.
