A Piecewise PSM Modulation Mode Based on Load Status

摘要 脉冲跨调制(PSM)是一种异于PWM、PFM的功率变换调制模式。本文从能量平衡和避免进入音频范围的角度出发,提出一种基于负载状态的分段式PSM调制模式,并给出了该分段式PSM调制模式的工作原理、占空比的设计方法、验证电路和实验结果。该改进模式使PSM成为实用性调制模式,尤其适合于功率集成IC的设计。 Pulse skip modulation (PSM) is one kind of modulation modes in power converter, which is different from PWM, PFM. A piecewise PSM based on load status was proposed in this paper, which could either match the requirements of energy balance or keep the actual switching frequency of the power device from audible noise range. The principle of the piecewise PSM, the choice of its duty ratio, the testifying circuits and the experiment results were also presented in the paper. This improved PSM mode makes PSM practicable, especially suitable for power integrated circuit.
