摘要
多义词是哲学、语言学、心理学等领域中广为探讨的语言现象。有关多义词心理表征的观点呈两个极端核心词义表征观和独立词义表征观。还有的观点趋于调和。本文介绍了多义词研究的各派分歧,并分析了各自的理论背景以及以往心理语言学的实验结果。通过对以往研究的分析得出的结论是,对多义词心理表征的研究缺乏更加全面的理论体系,实验设计不够全面,实验操作不够简便易行,数据受到了很多因素的影响,因而欠准确。最后,本文指出了多义词研究对于词典编纂和EFL教学的积极意义。
As a general linguistic phenomenon, polysemy is a widely discussed topic in philosophy, linguistics, and psychology, etc. Views about the mental representation of polysemons senses go to two extremes： the core-sense representation and the separate-sense representation. Some hold a mediated view. This paper introduces the diversified views on polysemy and analyses the theoretical backgrounds and results of past psycholinguistic experiments. The analysis of previous investigations reveals that polysemous representation study lacks a more comprehensive theoretical system, the related experiments were designed with some loopholes and were not simple and convenient, and the data were affected by many factors and thus were not precise. Finally, the paper calls attention to the significance for lexicography and EFL education.
