摘要
本文回顾了我国科技信息系统与科技信息网络的发展历程，强调了近年来Ｉｎｔｅｒｎｅｔ在全球的迅速崛起为我国科技信息事业所带来的机遇和挑战。本文对以Ｄｉａｌｏｇ为代表的集中式网络和以Ｉｎｔｅｒｎｅｔ为代表的分布式网络的技术特点进行了比较，介绍了我国第一个全国性的科技信息网络“国家科技信息网络（ＳＴＩＮＥＴ）”的现状和发展前景，并且对发展我国科技信息网络的某些问题提出了建议。
A brief history of S&T information systems and networks in China has been outlined in this paper.The upsurge of the lnternet in the world in recent years implies both a serious challenge and a rare chance for the S&T information service sectors in China.On the basis of a comparative study on the technical aspects of the centralized information networks represented by Dialog and the distributed information network represented by the lnternet,an introduction to the status quo and the future of China's first nation wide scientific and technical information network (STINET)for the S&T information service sectors has been made. This paper is concluded with some recommendations on the further development of the STINET.
