《尤利西斯》中的互文性是乔伊斯刻画人物、展现主题的重要手段。广泛引用荷马史诗《奥德赛》、《圣经》、莎士比亚戏剧以及乔伊斯的其他作品的情节和语言,借助古代欧洲经典文本中的语言、情节和人物,从不同角度展现现代西方社会精神荒原同古代欧洲文明间的冲突。文本中的互文性突出了小说的反讽意义,从而深刻揭示了反英雄主题。
The intertextuality in Ulysses and to expound the theme. The novel Odyssey employs serves as James Joyce＇s important approach to portray its characters cites extensively plots and languages from such texts as Homer＇s , The Holy Bible, Shakespearean plays and James Joyce＇ s previous works. The intertextuality in Ulysses languages , plots and characters in ancient classic texts to construct a conflict between ancient European culture and modern spiritual waste land. The intertextuality enhances the ironic tone of the novel and therefore profoundly reveals the anti- hero theme.
