摘要
多媒体数据库是一种可用于档案管理、人工智能、ＣＡＤ、办公自动化等方面的新型数据库，近来在国内引起了广泛重视，一些部门已开始应用。本文从程序员的角度对多媒体数据库的特点、功能、关键技术及开发时应遵循的原则作了分析。
Multimedia database,one of focus of attention nowadays,is a database of new type which can be used for archives management,artificial intelligence,CAD and office automation,process control,etc.. Multimedia database is much more superior to the traditional database in many respects. This papers describes the characteristics,functions and key techniques of multimedia and analyzes the principle for multimedia development. Besides,development tendency of multimedia is also predicated.
