"Gazing at" is a literary criticism term raised by Jean Starobinski, which is a metaphorical description of literary criticism. The subject of criticism can not be fully dissolvecl into author's creation conciousness, but "gazing at "requires critics to set their whole mind and heart on the works and read works critically. Long - time gazing at can lead a person to the area of mystery. In Shakespeare criticism, Keats enthusiastically "gazes at" text and seeks inspiration and opportunity for creation in the act and focuses his attention on mystery in his criticism.
