《还乡》是英国19世纪著名作家托马斯·哈代“性格与环境”的代表性悲剧小说。小说以爱敦荒原为背景,以游苔莎·斐伊与克林·姚伯的爱情故事为情节,表达了性格与环境对悲剧产生的作用。游苔莎悲剧形成的原因:环境因素、性格因素和偶然因素。
The Return of the Native is Thomas Hardy＇s tragic novel of Character and Environment,which centers around Eustacia Vye and Clym Yeobright＇s love story in the Egdon Heath. This article analyses the causes of Eustacia＇s tragic fate. Those causes are made up of environmental factors, character factors, and awidental factors.
