Objective:To explore the effect of EMP on the expression of N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR)protein in hippocampus in rats. Methods. Western blotting was applied to detect the expression of NMDAR protein in hippocampus before and after EMP exposure. Results: The NMDAR protein increased at 1h and reached the highest level at 24h after exposure(compared with control,P〈0. 05), and decreased after that. Conclusions: There is a efficient compensatory mechanism by which new NMDAR protein can be synthesised to suit functions in central nervous system early after exposure.
