摘要
汉语方言合口介音的消失循序渐进,秩然不紊。其中呈现的蕴涵关系取决于语音动机:主要发音固挑大梁,伴随动作也不可小觑。概括言之,合口介音是否消失及消失次序依声母发音的舌体姿态而定:舌体后部越高越不容易消失,反之则越倾向消失。除了声母次序,不同的合口呼韵之间也依一定的次序逐渐丢失介音。
The rise,shift and fall of a medial are all caused by a strict set of conditioned changes in Chinese.To varying degree,Chinese dialects have undergone the loss of the so-called 'closed-mouth' medial-u.Treating separately,there seems to be no rule governing its drop; it emerges from cross-dialectal comparison that this phonetic process sticks rigidly to a certain order,in accordance with the tongue position during the production of the preceding initials and,therefore,there is a remarkable implicational relationship found between the conditioning factors,rendering'predictability'fairly desirable.Likewise,finals dropping the closed-mouth medial also follow a clearly defined order.
