t is firstly found that a new Eu3+ complex(HDBM) can be used for organic thin film electroluminescence. It's volatile in vacuum. Its film forming property is very good. A thin film electroluminescence cell with the structure of ITO/TPB/HDBM/Mg/Ag was made. At forward bias,a sharp red monochromatic light was obtained around 614 urn, corresponding to Eu3+ characteristic emition. At forward bias of 20 V, luminance of the cell can reach 90 cd/m2. The light emiting on the surface of the device is homogeneous.
