In May, the growth of money credit continued to accelerate. The growth of savings deposits came to slow down markedly, since the soaring stock market attracted part savings. In the past five months, newly-added loans stood at 1.78 thllion yuan, accounting for 71.2% of the expected target of 2.5 trillion yuan for 2006, suggesting the strong ability of financial institutions to expand loans, In light of loan structure, the medium- and long- term loan growth rebounded with declining bills financing. Money market witnessed bdsk transactions and market rates kept stable.
