摘要
西方历史学有着一个源远流长的传统,自古希腊发端至今已走过了漫长的历程,而西方历史学家对历史学科自身的关注则始于16世纪文艺复兴的全盛时代。从20世纪初年以来,中国的西方史学史研究也经历了几个阶段的发展与变化。从方法上来讲,研究西方史学史应注重对西方史学遗产及时代趋向作出动态考察,注重开展中西史学之间互动关系的比较研究,以期深化我们对于西方史学、西方社会的了解与反思,更从整体上推动我国历史学科的发展。
Western history has experienced a long process since its origination in the times of ancient Greece, and the consideration of Western historians for the discipline itself started from the 16th century when the Renaissance was in its prime. From the first years of the 20th century, the studies of Western history also have gone through several phases. In methodology, the studies of Western history should lay stress on a dynamic research in the historical works, thoughts, schools, the tendency of times, etc. Meanwhile, the studies should attach importance to the comparative studies of the interaction between the Chinese history and Western history. Thus we could deepen our understanding and retrospection of Western history and society, and promote the develooment of Chinese history as a discipline in the whole.
