摘要
当前,我国正在大力开展远程教育特别是远程高等教育。美国远程高等教育已成为其高等教育重要组成部分,作为世界上电脑、网络技术运用得最普及和高等教育最发达的国家之一,了解和研究美国远程高等教育开展的情况和特点,对于我国正在大力实施的“现代远程教育工程,”推进我国远程高等教育的健康发展具有重要的现实意义。
Presently our country is carrying out in large-scale the distance education, particularly the distance higher education. Distance higher education has already been an important component of its higher education in the USA. Due to the widespread and popular use of computers and networks, the USA is one of the most advanced countries in the area of higher education： To understand and study the development and characteristics of the distance higher education in the USA is of practical significance for the Modem Distance Education Project launched in China as well as the sound development of the distance higher education in the country.
