This article firstly summarizes the status quo of WiMAX. Then it introduces the latest development of IEEE 802.16 standard in terms of air interface for fixed wireless access, air interface for mobile wireless access end management -related standards. At last. it gives a further description on the major work of WiMAX, including authentication specification and network specification.
