摘要
太湖为吴中胜地,历来即有许多异名,或谓之震泽、具区,或谓之五湖、洞庭,也有三山湖、湖亭、姑蔑。太湖的异名记载着太湖的变迁、太湖的社会情况、自然环境,以及历史上人们的相关语言、认识等。太湖异名表现出形状定名、特征定名及吴越古族语言性的特点。
Located in the heartland of the ancient Wu district, the Great Lake （Tai Hu） has many different names. The present paper attempts to trace the origin of each, the social and cultural background each carries, the linguistic and the natural features of the place in different historical periods.
