摘要
地理本体是地理信息科学中的一个新兴的和正在发展的研究领域,从提出至今仅有10年的历史。因此,有重点系统分析地理本体研究的发展历程与进展,对中国在此方面的研究定位具有重要意义。文章在深入分析科学领域本体的定义基础上,进行了地理本体定义,探讨了地理本体的研究意义,列举了国际上与地理本体相关的主要计划与学术会议,详细剖析了当前国内外的地理本体理论研究与应用方面取得的进展。地理本体研究已成为国际GIS领域一个重要的新兴研究方向并得到了蓬勃发展,而国内在这方面的研究才刚刚开始,只有少数学者开展了一些探索性的思考和研究。因此,中国应紧跟国际地理本体的研究动态,积极开展我国自己的地理本体理论、方法和应用研究。
Geo-ontology is a newly risen research field in geographical information science （GIS）, and has only a history of 10 years. Here we analyze the development and research progress of geo-ontology, a topic of considerable importance to research in China. Based on the deep analysis of the definition of science domain ontology, this paper develops the definition of geo-ontology and inquires into its research meaning. We list major international projects and academic conferences related to geo-ontology, and analyze in detail the important progress in geo-ontology theory research and application at home and abroad. The study of geo-ontology has become an important new and developing research direction in the international GIS domain and has had vigorous development there, but we have just begun research of this topic in China. Only a few scholars have explored and developed research on geo-ontology. Therefore, we should follow closely the research trends of international geo-ontology, and develop its theory, method and application in China.
