摘要
美国文化既是乐观主义的文化,又是充满强烈忧患精神的文化。危机意识贯穿美国历史的全过程,主要表现为早期对民族国家生存的关怀、二战前社会危机治理和战后以来应对种种内忧外患的民族情结。其深层历史文化根源是清教主义的理想主义与现实主义传统。危机意识为美国源远流长的改革传统提供了社会心理支持。美国危机意识主体上是乐观主义价值观的独特表现,它构成了美国200年强国之路的最深层动力源之一。
