This paper attempts to explore the origin and understanding of the semantic transfer of the English and Ghinese acoustic verbs "to listen/to hear" and "not to listen/not to hear" from the perspective of metaphorization - subjectification within the framework of cognitive linguistics. This research may enhance our universal knowledge of semantis relevance and sematic variation. The differentiating adaptation of social wcultural and psychological factors should be taken into consideration in the study of metaphorization subjectification.
