１９９４年乳山湾水化学环境调查结果：５月乳山湾的盐度普遍较高，在３１．９７以上；化学耗氧量（ＣＯＤ）较低，均低于１ｍｇ／Ｌ。８月盐度较５月低，分布范围为２４．５８～３０．７３；化学耗氧量（ＣＯＤ）比５月高，但远低于海水一类水质（３ｍｇ／Ｌ）标准。８月ｐＨ在７．９０～８．０５之间，属正常范围；营养盐类中的氨氮（ＮＨ４—Ｎ）、亚硝酸盐（ＮＯ２—Ｎ）和无机磷（ＩＰ）处于较低的水平；硝酸盐（ＮＯ３—Ｎ）在东、西流区中部和顶部较高，其浓度大于０．２０ｍｇ／Ｌ，最高达０．５７９ｍｇ／Ｌ。
Salinity Was > 31. 97 and COD was < 1mg/L throughout Rushan Bay inMay, 1994. The salinity was lower than in May and varied from 24. 58～ 30. 73. COD washigher in August than in May, but was much lower than first class water quality standard of 3mg/L. The pH varied regularly from 7. 90～ 8. 05 in August. The nitrate, ammonium andphosphate levels were low, but the nitrate concentration was high in the middle and end ports ofthe eastern and wastern underwater valleys, with average of over 0. 20mg/L and maximum of0. 579mg/L.
