In this article,289 normal neonates were tested by NBNA compared with 114 abnormal neonates. The results showed that NBNA scores of normal neonates group was 37. 92± 1.23,and nobody was below 35 score.NBNA scores of abnormal neonates group was 36. 84 ± 1. 62 (P < 0. 01), and 5 cases were below 35 score. The intelligence of two groups of neonates was studied by Gesell method 18 months after birth. The development quantity (DQ) of normal neonates was 97.75 ± 7. 27 and that of abnormal neonates was 85. 73± 7. 22(P <0.01 ). The relation of NBNA and DQ was studied,which showed to be positive (r=0. 669 P <0. of ). It was concluded that NBNA was a good method to evaluate the health conditions and mentality development of neonates.
