Mobile Gateway Extension of DSR Protocol in Ad Hoc Networks

摘要 动态源路由协议(Dynam ic Source Routing Protocol,DSR)是由移动节点组成的多跳无线Ad Hoc网络中一种简单和行之有效的路由协议。它使得一个Ad hoc网内各个节点得以互联,但是却没有提供给它们必要的Internet接入方式。为这种封闭的Ad hoc网络提供Internet访问能力,将大大提高其应用价值。详细介绍了为引入移动网关(Mobile Gateway,MG)的概念对原始的DSR协议所进行的改进工作,从而使配有DSR协议的Ad hoc网内节点可以通过移动网关访问In-ternet。同时还给出了我们在自行开发的DSR实验床上实现的移动网关及实际应用价值的评估实验。 The Dynamic Source Routing protocol (DSR) is a simple and efficient routing protocol designed specifically for muhi - hop wireless ad hoc networks of mobile nodes. The protocol makes all nodes in Ad hoc networks be able to communicate with each other. But DSR doesnt provide a necessary Internet connectivity to its nodes. Endowing this kind of closed Ad hoc networks with an ability of accessing Internet,wiU greatly raise their value of application. This paper introduces, in detail, our work on extending the DSR protocol to include the concept of Mobile Gateway (MG) through which the nodes in an Ad hoc networks using DSR protocol can visit Internet. At the same time, the paper also introduces the detailed implementation of the MG on the DSR testbed developed by us and some experiments by which we can estimate the actual application value of the DSR MG.
