摘要
加拿大农业的历史只有３００多年，随着农业技术的进步和生产的发展，环境退化问题如土壤侵蚀、压实、盐渍化、有机质下降、水质污染等已引起了极大的关注。８０年代中期直至９０年代，农业的重点开始向持续性转移，持续农业是以确保农业生产高产和安全的同时以满足经济、社会以及环境的需求为目标。重点论述了加拿大农业生产中，尤其是半干旱草原地区土壤的环境问题，以及有关的农业持续性发展对策。
Farmomg of Canada is relatlvely not old phenomenon,The early mixedfarming started in the 1600s,farming of the Canadian Prairie only began in the late 19thcentury.However,agricultural development and technological improvement have beenaccompanied by environmental impacts,such as the problem of soil degradation includingsoil erosion,compaction,dryland salinization,and loss of soil organic matter.Facingttiese environmental pressures,today Canada's agriculture has to shift to sustsinability.The aim is to achieve the objectves of productivity,security,corlservatlon, viability andacceptability simultaneously to ensure the sustainability of agriculture in the long run.
