摘要
调核(或称句重音)与焦点并不是两个等同的概念。焦点往往取决于说话者,而调核总是遵循一定的客观语言规律,与语法、语义因素密切相关。作为一种比较简单的语句类型,AP(A)结构的调核位置很好地体现了这一点,即调核落在哪一个成分上不仅取决于论元(A)的数量和位置,还取决于论元和谓词(P)之间的相对语义分量对比。
Nucleus （or accent ）is a different concept from focus. Whereas focus depends mainly on the speaker＇s intention and attitude, nucleus is generally controlled by certain language rules, especially syntactic and semantic ones,as is manifested by the nucleus placement in AP（A）structures. In other words,nucleus placement in these structures depends not only on the number and position of argument（A）, but on the relative semantic weight of argument and predicate（P）as well.
